Richard decided to help his dad Nick, Team Leader of Group 3 in Woolston as part of his volunteer hours for the DofE award, and bought his friend also part of the DofE with him. www.dofe.org. They helped with peeling and cutting the vegetables, mashing potato and serving up the plates. They helped in any area they were asked to and followed the guidance of the senior members without hesitation.


​'I am currently helping my dad at the Sunday Lunch Project as part of my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, for which I need 15 hours volunteering experience. I have enjoyed it, as it is a good team of people who have helped me. Everyone in the team is treated equally, so it doesn't matter that I am not an adult.


As well as the DoE, I think this will be a good thing to put on my CV and will hopefully help me stand out in interviews for college, etc. in the future, so this has been a positive experience for me.'
